Last updated: 15 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bytevia Limited collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use Route Rescue, including the mobile application, game services, support channels, and related online features (together, the “Service”).

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by Bytevia Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17135228.

Registered office and postal address:
Suite 10693, 5 Brayford Square
London, E1 0SG
United Kingdom

Privacy and support email: routerescue@bytevia.app

For UK data protection law, Bytevia Limited is the controller of personal information processed for the Service, except where another company acts as an independent controller for its own purposes, such as Apple, Google, or an advertising provider.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to Route Rescue on the Apple App Store and Google Play, our game servers, account and cloud-save features, purchases, advertisements, analytics, crash reporting, leaderboards, friend features, notifications, and customer support.

Apple, Google, and other third parties may process information under their own privacy notices when you use their stores, device services, advertising services, or payment systems.

3. Information we collect

The information collected depends on the features you use, your device settings, your location, and your privacy choices.

3.1 Account and device identifiers

Route Rescue may create an account automatically so that the game can save progress and provide online features. We may collect:

We do not receive your Apple or Google password. Unless you contact us directly, we do not normally require your real name or email address to play.

3.2 Profile and social information

If profile, leaderboard, or friend features are available, we may collect and display:

Your display name, avatar, selected country, VIP indicator, and leaderboard score may be visible to other players. Do not use your real name or include sensitive information in your display name.

3.3 Gameplay, progression, and cloud-save data

We collect information needed to operate and improve the game, including:

Some completed runs may be checked automatically against expected game rules or replayed using the submitted action journal to verify results and leaderboard scores.

3.4 Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card details.

We and our purchase-management provider, RevenueCat, may receive:

This information is used to deliver virtual items, restore purchases, maintain subscriptions, prevent fraud, respond to chargebacks or refunds, and keep financial records.

3.5 Advertising and privacy-choice information

Route Rescue may show rewarded, interstitial, banner, and app-open advertisements. When an ad is requested or displayed, Google AdMob and its advertising partners may process information such as:

Depending on your location and choices, ads may be personalized or contextual/non-personalized. Even non-personalized ads may use limited device storage or identifiers for purposes such as frequency capping, security, and aggregated reporting where permitted.

3.6 Analytics, custom telemetry, and diagnostics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Sentry, and our own telemetry. Google Analytics for Firebase helps us understand how the Service is used and improve game balance and performance. Firebase Cloud Messaging is used to deliver push notifications when you enable them. Sentry and our own telemetry help us diagnose errors, maintain security, and improve reliability. Information may include:

We configure these services to avoid intentionally sending message content, payment-card details, or other unnecessary sensitive information. Diagnostic reports can nevertheless contain information generated by the device or app at the time of an error.

3.7 Notifications

If you enable notifications, we may collect a push-notification token, platform, notification preferences, and delivery status. Notifications may relate to daily challenges, streaks, events, rewards, subscriptions, or service messages. You can disable notifications in the game or your device settings.

3.8 Communications and support

When you contact us, we collect the email address and information you provide, which may include support messages, screenshots, account identifiers, device information, or purchase details. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for us to resolve your request.

3.9 Information we do not intentionally collect

We do not intentionally collect precise GPS location, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, health information, or payment-card numbers through ordinary gameplay. Device permissions and store disclosures will identify any future feature that changes this.

4. How and why we use information

We use personal information for the following purposes and legal bases, as applicable:

Purpose Examples Typical legal basis in the UK/EEA
Provide the Service Create an account, save progress, run gameplay, provide virtual items, cloud saves, social features, and support Performance of a contract; legitimate interests where the processing is ancillary
Process purchases Verify transactions, maintain entitlements, restore purchases, handle refunds, and keep transaction records Performance of a contract; legal obligation
Operate advertising Deliver ads, cap frequency, verify rewarded ads, prevent ad fraud, and measure performance Consent where required; otherwise legitimate interests, subject to applicable law and opt-out rights
Analytics and improvement Understand feature use, game balance, retention, and performance Consent where required for non-essential analytics; otherwise legitimate interests in improving and securing the Service
Security and fair play Authenticate accounts, prevent abuse, validate runs, protect the economy, enforce rules, and investigate fraud Legitimate interests; performance of a contract; legal obligation where applicable
Communicate Send service messages, optional push notifications, respond to support, and provide data-export links Consent for optional notifications; performance of a contract or legitimate interests for support and service notices
Comply with law Accounting, tax, legal requests, disputes, and protection of rights Legal obligation; legitimate interests; establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether the processing is necessary and balanced against your rights. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

5. Advertising choices

Where required, Route Rescue presents a consent or privacy message before using personal information or device storage for personalized advertising and other non-essential purposes. A privacy-options entry may also be available in Settings.

You may also control advertising through:

Withdrawing or refusing consent may result in contextual/non-personalized ads, reduced ad functionality, or no ads where an ad request cannot lawfully be made. It does not necessarily remove all advertising.

We do not sell personal information for money. In some jurisdictions, disclosures for personalized advertising may be described as “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or “cross-context behavioural advertising.” Where applicable, you may opt out through the privacy controls described above or by contacting us.

6. Automated checks and anti-cheat

We use automated rules to validate game runs, rewards, purchases, advertisements, and leaderboard scores. These checks may reject a reward, reverse an invalid grant, limit a feature, or flag an account for investigation. Serious enforcement actions, such as a ban, may involve additional review. You may contact us if you believe an automated check was incorrect.

7. How we share information

We may disclose information as follows.

7.1 Service providers

We use companies that process information to provide services to us. These may include:

Provider or category Purpose Examples of information

These providers are permitted to use information only as allowed by their contracts, applicable law, and their independent obligations.

Provider privacy information includes:

7.2 Other players

If you use leaderboards, profiles, or friend features, information described in section 3.2 may be displayed to other players. Friend connections are mutual, and you can remove friends through the Service where the feature is available.

7.3 Legal, safety, and corporate disclosures

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

8. International data transfers

Our primary game server is located in Germany. Some service providers and their subprocessors may process information in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States, or other countries.

Where data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use appropriate measures such as adequacy regulations, approved standard contractual clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum, and contractual, organisational, and technical protections.

9. How long we keep information

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, and dispute-resolution needs.

Typical retention rules include:

10. Account deletion and data export

Where account features are available, you can request deletion from the account section in Route Rescue or by emailing routerescue@bytevia.app. We may ask for information needed to verify that the request relates to your account.

Once we have received and, where necessary, verified an account-deletion request, we begin deletion without a cancellation or grace period. We delete or de-identify account and authentication data, remove push tokens, and request deletion of associated RevenueCat subscriber data. Account access and game progress may be lost as soon as the request is processed. We may retain anonymised information and records that must be kept for accounting, tax, chargeback, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution, or other legal purposes.

Deleting Route Rescue from your device does not by itself delete a server account or cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Subscriptions must be managed separately through the relevant store.

You may request a portable copy of core account information by using the in-app export feature where available or by contacting us.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

To exercise a right, email routerescue@bytevia.app and include your player ID where possible. We may verify your request and may refuse or limit a request where permitted by law, for example where records must be retained for legal obligations, fraud prevention, or legal claims.

You may lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or, if applicable, your local supervisory authority. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, access controls, token rotation, input validation, rate limiting, webhook verification, security monitoring, and encryption at rest for primary databases where supported.

No internet, device, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and linked Apple or Google account.

13. Children and minimum age

Route Rescue is an Ages 16+ service and is intended for users aged 16 and over. It is not directed to children under 16. In territories using PEGI, we intend to submit the game for a PEGI 16 classification. The final rating is assigned through the applicable PEGI/IARC or store questionnaire.

If you are under 16, do not use the Service or provide personal information to us. If we learn that we collected personal information from a person under 16 contrary to this Policy, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it and may close or restrict the relevant account, subject to records we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, refund, or dispute purposes.

Users aged 16 or 17 should use the Service with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Where local law requires parental or guardian involvement, a higher minimum age, or additional consent for a particular feature, we will apply those requirements. Parents and guardians may contact us to ask questions or exercise applicable privacy rights on behalf of a minor.

We do not configure Route Rescue as a child-directed app. Our intended Google Play audience begins with the 16–17 age group. Advertising and analytics must nevertheless apply age-appropriate treatment to known teen users and comply with consent and data-protection requirements in each territory.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the Service, law, or our practices. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where a material change requires it. Your privacy choices will continue to apply as required by law.
